Procure Plus is committed to seeing the communities we work in improve beyond regeneration of bricks and mortar. For many communities, anti-social-behaviour (ASB) is a real issue, and our social enterprise development programme aims to tackle this issue on a generational basis.
Social enterprises are community organisations which exist for the benefit of the community, rather than to simply provide a product and make a profit. Our social enterprises engage with some of the individuals furthest from the labour market, and support those people through 6 months of real employment and out into the mainstream labour market.
We do this by working carefully in partnership with key bodies like local probation, police, schools and residents associations, to identify those individuals for whom supported employment would provide a way out of lifestyles which are unhealthy to them, their families and their communities. We provide up to 6 months of real employment, before supporting individuals in finding permanent employment in the mainstream labour market. The process we follow is illustrated below.
