The most hotly contested GMEC Awards event yet took place in May at the Hilton Manchester in association with the Commission for the New Economy.
Hosted by Manchester actress Sally Lindsay, the awards showcased exceptional businesses, partnerships and individuals making a positive and sustained difference to people from Greater Manchester.
We’re delighted that three of our suppliers won awards. Congratulations to them all.
The award for Welcoming Differences and Diversity was won by B4Box Ltd of Salford for its targeted recruitment and development of those most disadvantaged in the labour market. We were particularly delighted to see B4Box win as GM Procure sponsored this award!
The award for Positive Change Management was won by Rochdale-based Jackson, Jackson & Sons Ltd for valuing and supporting both employees and subcontractors in difficult economic times.
The award for Reducing Re-Offending was won by GES Contractors Ltd and Six Town Housing of Bury for their partnership approach to tackling worklessness amongst ex-offenders despite significant public preconceptions. Clean Start Services (a GM Procure supported community enterprise) were also shortlisted for ‘Reducing Re-Offending’ award.
