Procure Plus has helped raise around £1,000 for Manchester charity, Hope for Justice, by rallying support from its network of members and framework contractors. Staff at Procure Plus worked with its stakeholders to collect items for the charity’s clothes sale, which took place at the King’s Centre in Sale, Manchester. The money generated from the sale will support Hope for Justice in its effort to end human trafficking in the UK. Procure Plus' call for support had an overwhelming response from both its clients and contractors.
Kate Parker, Community Investment and Training Manager, said: "When we heard about Hope for Justice's work and their fundraising events, staff at Procure Plus were really keen to help out. The clothes sale was a great excuse to have a New Year wardrobe clear out, and I think everyone was surprised by just how many items they'd been hoarding. In the days leading up to the event, we received car loads of donations from numerous organisations that we work with - we couldn't believe the response."
Hope for Justice is a Manchester-based charity that aims to end human trafficking by investigating and rescuing victims from the UK. The charity estimates that in London alone. around 7,000 children are at risk of trafficking.
