Ten years ago, Mike decided to put something back and began working with Arena Housing Association, helping the organisation to build social enterprises. It was one of these ventures which became the seminal project for what is now Procure Plus Limited. Four years on and Procure Plus is now recognised as the market leader in its field, setting the standard for socially responsible organisations of its kind. His professional experiences with Arena Housing Association and Procure Plus mean Mike is an expert on socio and economic regeneration, and can advise on best practice for collaborative working in the social housing sector. ![]() | Brian Tarmey, Business ExecutiveBrian is responsible for systems, processes and business support at Procure Plus and has held the role of Business Executive since 2007. Prior to joining the organisation, Brian worked in various project management and customer service positions at high profile blue chip organisations. Brian’s role is to ensure all Procure Plus systems and processes build on the best value offered by its framework partners and improve performance. Customer service is also a focus for Brian. In particular, he makes sure each client is given the right system to match their needs, and ensure projects are run on time and on budget. Brian specialises in helping organisations achieve value for money from procurement services and promoting best practice in the sector. | |
![]() | Fiona Sharp, Corporate Social Responsibility ManagerFiona has been part of the Procure Plus team since July 2008. Prior to this, Fiona was involved in front line policing and was part of the police public protection unit. Following seven years in the police, Fiona made the move to public sector change management, where all of her roles have since been partnership and multi-agency focussed. Fiona is the lead on the ‘plus’ element of Procure Plus, meaning she is responsible for managing schemes such as Sense of Place, and oversees small business enterprise projects, skills, employment and training. With a background in policing, Fiona specialises in social enterprise and tenant involvement, and helps registered providers foster positive community relations in their neighbourhoods. | |
![]() | Gwen Heap, Business Operations ExecutiveGwen has held a number of roles at Procure Plus since November 2008. Prior to this, Gwen worked in the construction industry, where she was project manager for contracting in schools and commercial sectors.

| Simon Clueit, Commercial ManagerSimon has extensive experience in the construction industry, with a background predominantly in the private sector, development and consultancy. In 2006, Simon, who is a chartered surveyor, made his move in to the public sector, and in 2008 took up a senior position at GM Procure, before becoming an integral part of the new Procure Plus team when it merged with Impact Manchester in 2010. Simon has a deep understanding of all workstreams within Procure Plus, and works across a range of departments within the business. In particular, Simon is responsible for negotiating procurement deals with framework partners, managing external procurement consultants and ensuring Procure Plus delivers value for money against its competitors. Cost management, commercial competitiveness and procurement are Simon’s specialist areas. |
![]() | Steve Brindle, Development Executive - New BuildSteve has been involved in construction all his working life, with over 32 years’ experience, as a consultant with numerous organisations throughout the North West. Steve has worked in several different consultancy capacities during his career with commercial, industrial, educational, historic and in particular social housing clients, completing both refurbishment and new build schemes valued from hundreds to hundreds of millions of pounds. Since June 2007 Steve has worked as Operations Executive with Procure Plus but from Jan 2012 has taken up a newly created role of Development Executive – New Build. This challenge is to set up and establish the New Build Framework and ensure that Procure Plus stay at the cutting edge of procurement in the Northwest and be recognised throughout the UK. This innovative Framework combines the latest Government agendas around working with local SME’s, as well as established developers to manage and reduce costs whilst improving quality and provide true flexibility for Landlords using collaborative methodology.
Steve has a passion for the environment and when not in work Steve spends time with his family at rugby and football matches, he teaches Bushcraft and is a keen countryman. | |
