Derek joined Procure Plus in November 2011 and is responsible for the procurement, management and improvement of the Procure Plus and Re:allies frameworks and associated processes, with focus on the delivery of efficient and cost effective services for its customers. He has over 30 years experience in the construction and development of commercial and residential property in both the public and private sectors.
From a quantity surveying background, Derek spent 14 years at Manchester Airport, occupying a series of surveying and project management roles on the development and expansion of the Airport facilities and infrastructure, including Terminal 2, the Rail Link and the Second Runway.
Derek moved to Taylor Woodrow’s Property Company in 1998, and Project Managed a variety of commercial office and industrial developments. Subsequent acquisitions and mergers within the group lead to a 4 year spell in Construction and Technical Director positions within the companies North West regional housebuilding division.
From 2004 he worked as Manging Director of P.E.Jones Contracts (Manchester) Ltd, the construction division of the privately owned Emerson Group, and responsible for delivery of a variety of projects for group and external clients including RSL’s.
