Since the inaugural event in 2005, GMEC’s prestigious Awards have become a key date in the business calendar - celebrating where employers are leading the way in breaking down barriers to work and investing in their most valuable asset; their workforce.
Our Awards act as a showcase of Greater Manchester employers who are making a real difference to the lives of local people through business-driven social inclusion initiatives that focus on the recruitment, retention, and progression of a diverse workforce. The event both recognises what can be achieved when employers take the lead on the employment and skills agenda, and serves as a call to action to other employers to get involved and reap the benefits of innovative recruitment and training practices.
Ultimately the event demonstrates the positive impact employers’ personal drive, passion and commitment can have on their own organisation, the wider community, and the life chances of local people.
