Procure Plus’s annual away day took us to Prestatyn in Wales to the wonderful Salford by the Sea – Children’s Holiday Camp. Founded in 1926, the camps purpose has always been to provide affordable holidays for disadvantaged children. Saved from closure in 2014 the camp is currently undergoing a huge renovation and this is where Procure Plus stepped in. Over 50 colleagues spent a day away from the office to offer their services to a variety of projects including painting dormitories and the community room, fitting a new kitchen in the staff quarters, digging out and laying paths in the garden, erecting a poly tunnel and building a fire pit. The day was a great success and it was really satisfying knowing we had helped make a difference for the children who use the camp.
