We’re proud to announce that the Site Smart programme, delivered by Procure Plus and commissioned by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWACC), will begin in June 2025.

Following on from the success of the CITB funded OSE programme, Site Smart aims to break down barriers for care-experienced and NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people who are interested in entering the construction industry. The programme provides:

  • A fully funded CSCS card
  • Work experience on live construction sites
  • Essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Some young people have already moved into careers in construction. Others, though choosing different paths, have used the confidence and experience gained through Site Smart to successfully move into work.

“Following a rewarding year working alongside Cheshire West and Chester Council’s young people’s services, it is really pleasing through the UKSPF funding we can continue to support people in the region to gain qualifications, skills, equipment, and confidence to pursue construction as a career choice” – Howard Anstock, Employment and Skills Coordinator, Procure Plus.

Thanks to new funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), we’ve now confirmed further course dates, and the programme is continuing at pace. PP’s Employment and Skills Coordinator, Howard Anstock, will manage the project, working closely with Council teams to reach and support young people across the borough.
