Procure Plus Holdings is pleased to confirm it has been selected to deliver activity as part of the government’s new ‘Construction Skills Fund’. The fund will support people who are changing sectors, at risk of redundancy, or have no construction skills or experience to start their careers within the industry. Led by CITB, contractors will be supported to identify opportunities within their organisations, and the minimum skills needed for candidates to be able to move in to those roles. Procure Plus, along with partners including a range of community groups and local social enterprise, B4Box, will engage with candidates and provide appropriate training, leading to a real job within the industry.
“This is a great opportunity to build on the solid foundation we have built over the last ten years in supporting people in to starting their careers within the construction industry. Our existing contractors know the benefit of working with us to find excellent candidates who would perhaps not normally be considered by employers. This new fund means this activity can be extended to other contractors across the north of England.”
If you are a contractor interested in how the Construction Skills Fund can help you recruit quality staff, or an individual interested in starting a new career at any level within the construction industry, call the Procure Plus team on 0303 0300030.
“The Construction Skills Fund can be a genuine game-changer for both the construction industry and the individuals being trained. We have a massive need for homegrown talent and these projects will bring thousands of new people into our sector, giving them the crucial onsite experience they need to start a career in construction. These 26 hubs will be based at some of the most innovative sites in the UK, and CITB will be working hard to make sure they deliver the skills our industry critically needs.”
